Closure of CIP-Pool rooms
Following the recent RWTH Aachen University regulations/recommendations for precautions concerning COVID-19/cronavirus the CIP-Pool rooms (28A-204/-203/-202) will be closed for the public from Friday, March 13th, 15 o’clock, until further notice.
If it is absolutely necessary to directly use these PCs e.g. in context with the running lab course “Fortgeschrittenenpraktikum”, exceptions can be requested from K.Hoepfner (hoepfner at physik.rwth-aachen.de) or Th.Kreß (thomas.kress at physik.rwth-aachen.de).
You can access your home directory and the CIP-Pool software remotely (be sure to use the correct password, since too many failed tries will result in blocking your connection) by connecting from your own device with ssh or X2GO as explained on the Wiki page (using your Linux login and password).
The CIP-Pool printer in 28A-207 will be stopped.
The Physics Department’s IT helpdesk (room 28A-205) will be closed, urgent requests can be sent to EDV-Support at physik.rwth-aachen.de, only Emails from *@(*.)rwth-aachen.de will be considered. Please note that we will not distribute passwords by Email.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience these actions will cause. For recent information please regularly check this announcment.
Thomas Kreß et al., central IT services, Physics department.
