Observation of four-top-production at the LHC

Abstract:

For the first time in the history of particle physics, we have witnessed a simultaneous production of four heaviest elementary particles, the top quarks. The recorded events are among the most energetic phenomena that we were able to recreate in a terrestrial laboratory at CERN. Why this event marks a major advancement in our understanding of nature and what we are after next? We will discuss the scientific journey that led to the discovery as well as future challenges it entails.

Flavour Physics - Quo vadis?

Abstract:

I will give a brief overview of current hot topics in quark flavour physics and a theory motivation for future measurements in that field, trying to identify observables, which are less familiar, but nevertheless interesting and promising.
