Born in South Korea, Ahreum Friedrich has been a répétiteur and assistant choral conductor at RWTH Aachen University’s Collegium Musicum since winter semester 2015. In February 2016 she completed her Bachelor's degree in Catholic Church Music at the Musikhochschule Düsseldorf. During her studies she was taught by Professor Kursawa (organ), Professor Hansel and Professor Nuoranne (choral and orchestral conducting). In November 2016, Ms. Friedrich began working as a church musician in the inner-city parish of Franziska von Aachen. The main activity is located in St. Foillan. The young church musician very much enjoys the versatile work on one of the most beautiful organs in Aachen. While musical activities in her new home of Aachen have kept her busy, she has also performed as a guest pianist in the Düsseldorf Tonhalle with the Youth Symphony Orchestra. Furthermore, she is a sought-after soprano at many church music events in Essen. Already at a young age, her studies in piano also led her to Berlin for mentoring by Professor Georg Sava as well as to South Korea to the University of Seoul.
