The shared mechanical workshop of the II. Institute of Physics offers essential support through longtime experience and further training. We design and fabricate mechanical components and apparatus for scientific research. The emphasis of the work is the manufacturing and the assembling of experimental systems which are working under extreme conditions, like ultra-high vacuum or very low temperatures (mK range). Especially usefull is the experience in the field of classical optics and x-ray optics, like the manufacturing of high precision x-ray lenses.
