- The collection of the Physical Library is catalogued online since 1992. For earlier titles you have to use the alphabetical card catalog in the library. Searching the online catalog is possible via the "Allegro-Datenbankserver". At the link "Einzelne Institutskataloge" please choose "110 Physikalische Institute".
- The Central Library (Library Guide) offers access to their holdings by the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog). Members of the Departement of Physics with a regular library card from the Central Library and an additional registration for delivery service can order books from the OPAC via the "Fahrdienst" (see delivery services).
- The union catalog of the Academic Library Center in North Rhine-Westphalia ALEPH provides entries from more than 900 university, academic, public and institution libraries. Literature which is not available in libraries of Aachen can be ordered through interlibrary loan.
- A broad search is possible with the the "Karlsruher Virtueller Katalog" (KVK). A search interface allows you to search multiple library catalogs and databases nationwide and abroad simultaneously.
